Ballinasloe Darkness into Light say local support is much appreciated.

Starting at 4.15am, and crossing the line just as dawn is breaking, the phenomenon that is Darkness Into Light, the annual 5km dawn walk/run, will celebrate its eighth year on Saturday, May 7th 2016, with over 100 venues across Ireland and beyond lined up.  This is Ballinasloe's second year of being involved - over 1,000 walkers took part last year!

There will be refreshments in the Emerald Ballroom following the walk/run on the morning of Saturday 7th May So if you would like to donate cakes, muffins, buns, bananas, bars etc we would be delighted to accept. Call 087 2759 647 for more details!

Once again this year the Shearwater Hotel is sponsoring Darkness Into Light Ballinasloe. As well as supplying the venue for the County Galway Darkness Into Light launch on March 11th they will be supplying all of the tea and coffee for everyone following the walk and this year they will be open for breakfast at 5.30 am. A full buffet style breakfast will be available with fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and of course your full Irish for €8. We are delighted that the 4 star Shearwater Hotel continues to support this fantastic community event. 

Also a huge thank you to Coral Leisure for donating a free pass to every participant in this years' Ballinasloe DIL walk/run. You will have a 2 week window in which to avail of the facilities at Coral Leisure, Ballnasloe with a 25 metre Pool, Sauna and Steam room as well as Treadmills, Bikes, Rowers, Steppers, Weights and more in their fully furnished Gym. This is a great opportunity to check out their facilities. Give your details on the night of the walk. Children may use the pool only and must be accompanied by an adult.
